WHAT IS URBAN CAMP-AT-HOME?
This is a FREE program offered by Urban Camp at First United Methodist Church of Dallas.
We will meet Monday-Friday at 10 am and 2 pm on a live web call. Each call will include a fun greeting time, a short devotional/scripture and a hands-on activity.
Each session will last 30-45 minutes.
HOW IT WORKS
Registration is required (see link below). Each Sunday we will email parents a link to a web page and a password for that week.
You can bookmark this page each week to allow campers easy access. The page will have an easy and memorable password.
The web page will have that week’s activities, supplies needed for each activity and the parent involvement level. The page will be password protected.
A few minutes before the activity, you can gather supplies, log in to zoom and we will take it from there!
This is not school! If there is an activity that you choose not to participate in, no big deal!
If you are unable to make the session, we will also post a recording of the session online for easy viewing.

We have given each activity a rating (low, medium, high) which will indicate the need for parents to be helpers in the project. Please check the activities on Sunday to see what will be needed from you. As a reminder, you can always opt out of activities if you do not have time to help.
In addition to daily activities, we will also have a “Weekly Project” for campers to work on. These are self-paced projects that we will introduce every Monday morning in the first session. On Friday afternoons, campers will have a chance to present their projects to the whole camp online.
Because there is no cooking camp, we will also be posting “Cooking with Your Kids” videos once a week on the web page. These will be cooking demonstrations/lessons that you can follow-along with your kids to share some time in the kitchen. Look on the web page each week for a link
As a reminder, all activities are optional.
Although Urban Camp-At-Home is free, we are asking you to register. This program is open to anyone, so invite a friend to join us online!
If you are a returning camper family, you can log into the parent portal with your existing credentials (if you need help logging in, email us here ). Click on “Camper Application.” This will take you through the application again, review the information to be sure it is correct and select “Urban Camp-At-Home” and then select if you want any supply boxes. Complete the application and you are in!
If you are a new camper family, we would ask that you complete a new family profile and application for each camper who will be participating.
You will have a chance to add additional campers once you have completed the first application.
